President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva visited Azerbaijan’s Shamakhi district on September 17.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the president and first lady visited a monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev erected in central Shamakhi.
Shamakhi is one of Azerbaijan’s historic regions and is known for its cultural heritage and long-standing role in the country’s history. Heydar Aliyev, who led Azerbaijan during key periods of its modern development, is commemorated with monuments and memorials across the country.
