French President Emmanuel Macron has sent a congratulatory letter to President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the national holiday of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the letter reads: "Mr. President, dear Ilham. On the occasion of the national holiday of the Republic of Azerbaijan, I wish you and the people of Azerbaijan peace and prosperity. Following our meeting in Copenhagen on October 2 last year and our recent phone call on May 21 this year, I would like to reiterate my intention to continue working to normalize our bilateral relations in all areas—whether it is our dialogue on regional issues or our cooperation in the fields of economy, culture, and education—in order to utilize their full potential."
In his message, the French President also highlighted the exemplary cooperation regarding the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ), which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. He expressed hope that both nations would overcome recent challenges affecting their partnership. Furthermore, Macron reaffirmed France's full support for the continuation and finalization of the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan to open a new chapter of prosperity for all peoples in the region.
The French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ), functioning in Baku, stands as a cornerstone of humanitarian and educational cooperation between the two nations. Established as a joint initiative, UFAZ offers double-degree programs that contribute significantly to developing highly skilled specialists in Azerbaijan while strengthening cultural and academic ties with France.
