Four individuals suspected of spying for Iran have been arrested in the capital of the United Kingdom.
Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Sky News, reports that the London police detained the suspects as part of an ongoing counter-intelligence investigation.
The arrested individuals are accused of assisting Iran's intelligence services. According to the indictment, they conducted surveillance on specific individuals and facilities associated with London's Jewish community.
Helen Flanagan, head of London's counter-terrorism police, stated that these arrests are a significant part of a long-term investigation.
"We understand that the public, particularly members of the Jewish community, may be concerned. As always, I ask them to remain vigilant and report anything suspicious to us," the police official emphasized.
According to official information, one of the detainees is an Iranian citizen, while the other three hold British-Iranian dual citizenship.
This incident comes amid heightened security concerns in the UK regarding foreign interference and state-sponsored threats. In recent years, British security services have repeatedly warned about the activities of hostile intelligence agencies operating on UK soil. The protection of religious and ethnic communities remains a top priority for the Metropolitan Police, which has increased patrols and surveillance around sensitive sites in response to evolving geopolitical tensions.
