During negotiations with my Azerbaijani counterpart, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, we discussed regional security issues in the South Caucasus and the Middle East, as well as efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine, said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Sybiha made these remarks during a joint press conference with Bayramov. He noted that the Ukrainian side briefed Azerbaijan on Kyiv's peace initiatives and emphasized Baku's significant role in promoting peace and ensuring regional stability.
The head of the Ukrainian foreign policy agency also expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev, and the Azerbaijani people for the assistance provided to Ukraine since the early days of the Russia-Ukraine war. "The restoration of civilian infrastructure in Irpin, humanitarian aid, equipment for energy facilities, and much more—we will always remember this," Sybiha stated.
Azerbaijan has consistently maintained a balanced foreign policy, advocating for the peaceful resolution of conflicts and providing significant humanitarian support to Ukraine, including medical supplies, food, and energy equipment, while simultaneously engaging in diplomatic efforts to foster stability across the South Caucasus region.
