Several bus routes in Azerbaijan will no longer stop at the “Shamakhiinka” bus stop in Baku.
The information was provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.
To optimize traffic on regular bus routes in the area known as “Shamakhiinka” on Moscow Avenue, routes 130, 142, 500, 503 and 508 will be removed from the existing stop. Passengers using these routes will be able to board and alight at the “Azerbaijanfilm Cinema Studio” stop.
The stop in the “Shamakhiinka” area will be reorganized into three sections and marked with appropriate signs for passengers’ convenience. The measure is intended to prevent additional congestion caused by buses around the stop.
“The measures being implemented are aimed at improving traffic efficiency on the capital’s road and transport infrastructure, accelerating public transport services and helping passengers reach their destinations more conveniently. Comprehensive measures, including optimization efforts and the deployment of additional buses, are continuing to meet growing passenger demand in the area,” the statement said.
Bus stop reorganization is part of broader efforts to improve public transport operations in Baku, where route planning and passenger demand are regularly reviewed to ease congestion and enhance service reliability.
