A serious road accident has occurred at the 13.5-kilometer mark of the Baku-Quba highway.
Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the Main State Traffic Police Department, reports that the accident was recorded at around 12:05 p.m. today.
After colliding with a median barrier, a Scania truck entered the opposite lane and overturned onto a Ravon passenger car.
According to preliminary information, one person in the Ravon died at the scene, while another sustained injuries of varying severity.
Traffic police officers were dispatched to the scene. An investigation is underway.
The Main State Traffic Police Department said that some truck drivers’ failure to comply with speed limits, safe following distances, and overtaking and maneuvering rules leads to serious consequences. It added that monitoring and preventive measures against such violations would be tightened.
