Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen thanked Azerbaijan for helping evacuate Dutch citizens, including the Netherlands’ ambassador to Tehran and embassy staff, via Azerbaijan during recent events in the Middle East. He made the remarks during a meeting with President Ilham Aliyev.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that Berendsen said the Netherlands highly valued President Ilham Aliyev’s personal role in establishing peace and stability in the South Caucasus, adding that this was important for Europe as well as the region.
