An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) entered Moldovan airspace amid Russia’s large-scale attacks on Ukraine.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Moldova’s Ministry of Defense issued the statement.

According to the ministry, the incident occurred at 10:33 a.m. today. The UAV entered Moldovan airspace from the direction of the Ukrainian settlement of Mayaki, crossed the state border near the village of Palanka and advanced to approximately 500 meters inside the country.

At 10:34 a.m., the unmanned aerial vehicle returned in the same direction and re-entered Ukrainian airspace.

Moldova, which borders Ukraine, has previously reported airspace incidents linked to the war, underscoring the regional security risks posed by the ongoing conflict. Authorities in neighboring countries closely monitor such incidents because drones can cross borders within minutes and complicate efforts to establish their origin.
