European political institutions are facing fresh allegations of deep-seated corruption and external influence. According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Minval Politika, sensational video footage has emerged purportedly proving the extensive activities of the Armenian lobby within European structures and high-level corruption within the European Union leadership.

The recordings feature Luis Moreno Ocampo, the former prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), and his son, Tomas Moreno Ocampo, discussing their methods for achieving political objectives. In the footage, Ocampo claims to have influential figures on his staff, specifically mentioning a former legal advisor to Josep Borrell. Ocampo suggests that through these connections, he can exert pressure within the European Parliament and influence European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to alter European policy toward Azerbaijan.

The leaked discussions outline a strategy to use the European Court to force the European Commission to terminate its agreements with Azerbaijan, primarily by exploiting human rights narratives. Furthermore, Tomas Moreno Ocampo is heard discussing the necessity of removing Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan from power, citing internal chaos in Armenia. These revelations suggest a coordinated effort, allegedly funded by Russian-based Armenian oligarchs such as Samvel Karapetyan and Ruben Vardanyan, to undermine regional peace and Azerbaijan's interests.

The reports come at a time of significant geopolitical shifts. As noted in the recordings, the strategy involves increasing pressure as US President Donald Trump clears the path for new diplomatic alignments. The Minval Politika editorial board emphasized that the footage is authentic and has not been subjected to artificial intelligence manipulation. They have called on Belgian security services and EU institutions to launch a formal investigation into these potential corruption schemes involving Borrell, Ocampo, and other high-ranking officials.

Luis Moreno Ocampo has long been a controversial figure in the South Caucasus. While serving as the first prosecutor of the ICC from 2003 to 2012, his tenure was marked by various controversies. In recent years, he has frequently been accused by Baku of acting as a mouthpiece for Armenian interests, often producing reports that Azerbaijan characterizes as biased and legally flawed. This latest scandal adds a new dimension to these accusations, suggesting that his advocacy may be part of a broader, financially motivated lobbying network aimed at disrupting the fragile peace process in the Garabagh region.
