Former Roma, Juventus and Milan manager Fabio Capello assessed the Manchester United-Roma match in the fourth round of the 2026/2027 Champions League league phase. The match was played in Manchester on November 3 and ended in a 3-2 win for the hosts.
Paulo Dybala scored in the 11th minute for Roma, with Donyell Malen adding another in the 18th. Bruno Fernandes scored for Manchester United in the 58th minute, while Matheus Cunha found the net in the 83rd and 86th minutes. Cunha was sent off in stoppage time, in the 90+1st minute.
“This defeat hurts more than losing to Real. Roma conceded three goals in seven minutes, despite playing excellent football for 83 minutes. That makes it more disappointing. There are no standout players in the current Manchester United squad who can change the course of a game in a minute; the team has average players. That is why this defeat hurts more than the one against Real,” Capello was quoted as saying by Sky Sport Italia.
