A tragic incident has occurred in the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation following an attack by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the target of the strike was a bus traveling from the Belarusian city of Gomel, which was transporting a youth football team to the resort town of Gelendzhik for a vacation.
Belarusian Minister of Health Alexander Khodjayev confirmed that eight people sustained injuries of varying severity, six of whom are minors. The injured are currently receiving medical treatment in various hospitals across the Bryansk region. One woman, who was accompanying the team, was killed in the attack.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus has strongly condemned the incident. In an official statement, the ministry characterized the attack as an act of terrorism against civilians and demanded an explanation from Kyiv. The ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict has frequently seen border regions in Russia subjected to UAV strikes and artillery fire, with Moscow consistently labeling these actions as deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure.
