The 70th presentation ceremony for the Ballon d’Or, one of world football’s most prestigious individual awards, will be held today.
The event, dedicated to the results of the 2025–2026 season, will take place at the London Palladium, Operative Information Center-OMM reports.
For the first time, the world’s leading individual football award will be presented outside France. Holding the ceremony in London is linked to English footballer Stanley Matthews, who became the first Ballon d’Or winner in 1956.
The men’s award will be decided from a shortlist of 30 players. Nominees include Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Lamine Yamal (Barcelona), Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid), Ousmane Dembele (PSG), Lionel Messi (Inter Miami) and others.
The Ballon d’Or winner will be selected by a jury of international football journalists. The jury includes one journalist from each country ranked in FIFA’s top 100.
