The operating schedule of Baku Metro CJSC will be changed in connection with the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku.
The information was provided to “Operative Information Center-OMM” by the joint-stock company.
It said that, in line with the program of cultural and public events, three stations — “Icherisheher,” “Sahil” and “28 May” — will operate under an enhanced regime from Sept. 24 to 26. Additional personnel will be assigned to the stations according to duty rosters.
On the nights of Sept. 24-25 and Sept. 25-26, passenger entry to the three stations will remain open until 1 a.m.
Train services on the Green and Purple lines will operate as usual, while the other stations of the Red Line will close at midnight.
The Baku City Circuit hosts the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, an international Formula 1 event that brings together drivers and teams from around the world. Extending metro service is intended to facilitate public transport access during the race-related events in central Baku.
