The operations of Baku Girls University have been officially terminated, according to information provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Ministry of Science and Education.
The decision follows a meeting of the Accreditation Council held on July 10, where final evaluation reports on institutional and program accreditation for the university were reviewed. Based on the discussions and subsequent voting, the university's accreditation status was deemed "not compliant," leading to a formal decision that the institution is not accredited.
The Ministry stated that the decision was based on significant non-compliance with state educational standards, regulatory legal acts, and quality assurance requirements identified during the assessment process. Given the nature and scale of these deficiencies, and the lack of evidence that they could be rectified in the short term, the Ministry initiated procedures to suspend the university's educational activities.
Consequently, the Ministry of Economy, acting under the Law on Licenses and Permits, revoked the university's license (No. EL-358/2018, dated September 11, 2018) on July 30, 2026. Prior to this, the license had been suspended on July 22, and the university failed to provide evidence that the violations leading to the suspension had been addressed.
To protect the educational rights of the affected students and ensure the continuity of their studies, the Ministry of Science and Education has announced that it will facilitate the transfer of students to other higher education institutions in accordance with their respective majors.
