Azerbaijan attaches great importance to friendly relations with African countries, the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has stated.
"We sincerely congratulate the governments and peoples of the African continent on the occasion of Africa Day and convey our best wishes," the ministry said in a post on social media platform X, Operative Information Center-OMM reports.
The ministry emphasized that Azerbaijan highly values cooperation with its African partners in various fields, including trade, education, energy, sustainable development, and humanitarian initiatives. The MFA added that Baku looks forward to further expanding these relations both bilaterally and within international organizations.
Azerbaijan has actively strengthened its relations with African nations in recent years, particularly during its chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). Through the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA), the country has provided humanitarian assistance and educational scholarship programs to numerous African students, fostering deeper diplomatic and cultural connections.
