Teachers at state-run kindergartens in Azerbaijan will take part in a certification process in October and November, with the process expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Operative Information Center-OMM reported that Eshqi Baghirov, director of the State Agency for Preschool and General Education, made the announcement at a September conference for education workers.
According to him, 1,300 preschool teachers have started working at preschool education institutions after undergoing assessments based on various criteria:
“These individuals are qualified specialists who successfully passed both testing and the interview stage. The second step in this area was a diagnostic assessment of the knowledge and skills of the teaching staff working at existing preschool education institutions. Nearly 12,000 preschool teachers took part in this process in previous years.”
Baghirov added that the next step in developing preschool teaching staff and encouraging their professional efforts would be to involve them in the certification process:
“This process will also be organized in October and November.”
Certification is part of Azerbaijan’s broader efforts to assess educators’ professional knowledge and skills and support the quality of preschool education. Preschool institutions provide early learning and care before children enter general education.
