Adverse weather conditions observed in several regions of Azerbaijan could significantly complicate traffic movement by increasing the likelihood of slippery roads.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Main State Traffic Police Department (BDYPI) has urged drivers and pedestrians to be more careful and cautious, taking into account the warnings issued regarding the current weather conditions.
The department stated that speed limits must be chosen in accordance with road and weather conditions, and a safe distance from the vehicle ahead must be maintained. Sharp maneuvers and dangerous overtaking operations are strictly prohibited. Additionally, drivers are called upon to pay special attention to the technical condition of their vehicles, particularly ensuring tires are appropriate for the season and checking the functionality of braking and lighting systems.
According to meteorological forecasts, intensive precipitation is expected in several regions of Azerbaijan today, with snow anticipated in some areas. The BDYPI urges all road users to strictly follow traffic rules to ensure safety during the winter season. In Azerbaijan, the State Traffic Police regularly issues such advisories during seasonal transitions to prevent road accidents and ensure the uninterrupted flow of traffic on national highways and urban centers.
