Azerbaijan places militarized security company under AZCON

“Herbiləşdirilmiş Mühafizə İdarəsi” Limited Liability Company has been included on the list of entities to be placed under the management of Azerbaijan Transport and Communications Holding (AZCON).

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to this effect.

Under the decree, a new item has been added to the list of state enterprises, companies with state participation and public legal entities to be placed under the management of the public legal entity Azerbaijan Transport and Communications Holding (AZCON), approved by Presidential Decree No. 226 dated Nov. 7, 2024.

Specifically, item 8.7 has been added to the list, bringing “Herbiləşdirilmiş Mühafizə İdarəsi” Limited Liability Company among the entities to be transferred to AZCON’s management.

The Cabinet of Ministers has been tasked with resolving matters arising from the decree.

AZCON was established to coordinate the management of state-owned assets in Azerbaijan’s transport and communications sectors. The transfer is expected to bring the company responsible for protecting strategic facilities within the holding’s broader management framework, while implementation details will be determined by the Cabinet of Ministers.
