In the first quarter of this year, 386.2 million manats, or 11% of the annual allocated funds, were utilized for the reconstruction and restoration of Azerbaijan's liberated territories, specifically the Garabagh and East Zangazur economic regions. These funds were allocated based on payment orders submitted by executing organizations for relevant projects.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the Ministry of Finance, 355.2 million manats were directed toward infrastructure projects. This includes 185 million manats for road infrastructure, 142.2 million manats for housing complexes, and 28 million manats for tourism infrastructure. Additionally, 10.7 million manats were spent on social projects in health and culture, while 20.3 million manats were allocated for demining operations.
The restoration of the liberated territories remains a top priority for the Republic of Azerbaijan. The government has launched the "Great Return" program, aiming to revitalize the Garabagh and East Zangazur regions through massive infrastructure development, including "smart village" concepts and the restoration of historical monuments. These efforts are crucial for the safe and sustainable repatriation of internally displaced persons to their ancestral lands.
