March pension payments have been fully completed across the Republic of Azerbaijan ahead of schedule in connection with the upcoming holidays.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population has released an official statement regarding the early disbursements.
Following the payments made on March 6 for residents of Baku, Sumgait, and the Absheron district, as well as the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, pensions for individuals registered in other regions of Azerbaijan, including pensions granted on preferential terms, were transferred to citizens' accounts today.
The Ministry further noted that this month's allowances, scholarships, and targeted social assistance will also be paid in full ahead of schedule, specifically before the Novruz and Ramadan holidays. This proactive measure aims to ensure that citizens can meet their needs during the festive period.
In Azerbaijan, the timely delivery of social payments is a key component of the state's social protection policy. Novruz, the traditional Persian New Year, and Ramadan are among the most significant holidays in the country, typically involving increased household expenditures. By adjusting the payment schedule, the government ensures that approximately 1.1 million pensioners and various social benefit recipients receive their funds without delay during these national celebrations.
