Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan relations have developed dynamically in recent years.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev made the statement while addressing the eighth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Azerbaijan and Central Asia in the city of Turkmenbashi.
Noting that five high-level visits have taken place since last year, the head of state said:
“This reflects the intensity of our political dialogue and our shared desire to further strengthen bilateral ties.”
President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the construction of a mosque in Fuzuli at the initiative of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, chairman of Turkmenistan’s Halk Maslahaty:
“Last year, we took part together in laying its foundation. This gift from brotherly Turkmenistan to our country is further proof of the friendship and spiritual closeness between our peoples.”
