The Azerbaijani people united as one during the 44-day Patriotic War.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that President Ilham Aliyev made the remarks on Nov. 6 during a meeting with residents who had relocated to Jahangirbayli village in Zangilan district and Soltanli village in Jabrayil district.
The head of state said Azerbaijan had restored justice:
“This victory will live forever in our hearts. Our people and future generations will always be proud of this victory. We restored justice, restored our dignity and reclaimed our rights by shedding blood on the battlefield. May God have mercy on all our martyrs. Their dear memory will always live in our hearts. I am sure their families know that their blood was not shed in vain. They were avenged on the battlefield, and today the greatest tribute to their cherished memory is the magnificent revival of Garabagh and East Zangazur.”
