A woman suspected of engaging in illegal drug trafficking has been detained in the Barda district of Azerbaijan.
This information was provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
According to the official report, officers from the local District Police Department conducted an operation that led to the arrest of Mirana Nurushova, who was suspected of involvement in the illicit drug trade. During the search, authorities discovered and seized over 10 kilograms of marijuana and hashish, which the suspect had acquired for the purpose of sale.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. By court decision, a pre-trial detention measure has been imposed on M. Nurushova. Investigations into the case are currently ongoing.
The fight against illegal drug trafficking remains a priority for law enforcement agencies in Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Internal Affairs regularly conducts special operations across the country to dismantle drug distribution networks and ensure public safety, reflecting the state's broader commitment to combating organized crime and protecting the health and security of its citizens.
