The Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan have conducted a joint operation to recover illicitly held weapons.
According to information provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Press Service of the Ministry of Justice, the operation was based on intelligence regarding a convict currently serving a sentence in a penitentiary facility. Prior to his incarceration, the individual had concealed various weapons in the territory of Chayli village, located in the Goygol district.
During the search, authorities discovered and seized two "Toz-8" rifles, 13 rounds of ammunition, and one bayonet knife. An investigation into the matter is currently underway.
The recovery of illegal firearms remains a priority for Azerbaijani law enforcement agencies, which frequently conduct operations to neutralize weapons caches left over from previous years or hidden by criminal elements. Such efforts are part of a broader national strategy to ensure public safety and maintain order across the Republic of Azerbaijan.
