The National Hydrometeorological Service informed Operative Information Center-OMM that the fog will primarily affect higher-altitude areas, significantly impacting traffic flow. It was further noted that icy road conditions are anticipated in some mountainous and foothill districts, requiring extra caution from drivers.
The National Hydrometeorological Service of Azerbaijan regularly monitors atmospheric conditions to provide timely warnings regarding hazardous weather. Such seasonal fog and ice are common in the Caucasus region during winter months, often leading to temporary travel restrictions to ensure public safety on major transport corridors connecting Baku with the western and northern regions of the country.
