Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior pushed La Liga match operations director Luis López after receiving a red card during the teams’ match in the league’s eighth round, DAZN journalist Isaac Futo reported.
Real Madrid won the match 1-0. Diomande scored the only goal in the 62nd minute. Vinicius was sent off in the 73rd minute.
According to Futo, as the Brazilian player was leaving the pitch, he approached López near the VAR area and told him, “This is a terrible league.” The journalist said Vinicius knew the man worked for La Liga.
Referee Isidro Díaz de Mera sent Vinicius off after disallowing his goal in the 72nd minute. A review of the footage showed that the Real Madrid forward had pulled the hair of opposing midfielder Nathan Saliba.
Vinicius could face a longer suspension because the referee’s report notes aggressive conduct toward an official.
