Viking captain Zlatko Tripić shared his thoughts after his side’s match against Bayern Munich in the second round of the UEFA Champions League league phase. The Norwegian team took a 2-0 lead at home, but the match ended in a 3-3 draw.

Stensnes scored for the Stavanger club in the second minute, followed by Kristiansen in the 38th. Harry Kane levelled the score with goals in the 54th and 60th minutes. Luis Díaz put Bayern ahead in the 71st minute, before Haugen made it 3-3 in the 90th. Bayern’s Michael Olise was sent off in the 74th minute.

Speaking to UEFA’s official website, Tripić said his team had faced one of the world’s strongest clubs and put in a good performance. The captain said his team had shown what it could do, gained valuable European experience and was pleased with the result.

“I could have played another 90 minutes. I’m proud of our team. I’ve waited 34 years for this,” Tripić said.

In the third round, Viking will visit Aston Villa on October 21, while Bayern will host London club Arsenal on the same day.
