President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has sent a congratulatory letter to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of his receipt of the prestigious Zayed Award for Human Fraternity.

"I sincerely congratulate you on being awarded the international 'Zayed Award for Human Fraternity' in Abu Dhabi and take great pleasure in conveying my best wishes," the Uzbek President stated.

President Mirziyoyev highlighted that the award recognizes President Ilham Aliyev's tireless efforts toward ensuring lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus. He specifically noted the historic importance of the Joint Declaration signed between President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Washington on August 8, 2025, as a major milestone in the peace process. The letter further commended the Azerbaijani President's commitment to resolving long-standing conflicts through political and diplomatic means and his role in establishing regional security mechanisms and economic connectivity.

The Zayed Award for Human Fraternity is an independent global award that recognizes individuals and entities for their contributions to building a more peaceful and compassionate world. Named after the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of the United Arab Emirates, the award highlights leaders who demonstrate courage and vision in fostering coexistence. The recognition of President Ilham Aliyev comes amid Azerbaijan's ongoing efforts to rebuild the liberated territories in Garabagh and promote a new era of cooperation in the region.
