Uzbek President awards Azerbaijani ambassador with state order

Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the outgoing Azerbaijani Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Huseyn Guliyev, have discussed the further development of strategic partnership and alliance relations between the two nations.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan released a statement regarding the meeting.

During the meeting, President Mirziyoyev commended the Azerbaijani diplomat for his effective work and personal contributions to strengthening bilateral cooperation. In recognition of his significant role in bolstering the multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, President Mirziyoyev awarded Huseyn Guliyev the "Mehnat Shuhrati" (Labor Glory) Order.

Ambassador Guliyev expressed his gratitude to the Uzbek leader for the high appreciation of his diplomatic mission and for the support provided in developing large-scale cooperation between the two countries.

The relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have reached a new level of strategic partnership in recent years, characterized by intensive political dialogue at the highest levels. Significant progress has been achieved in the trade and economic spheres, with trade turnover increasing multiple times. Currently, 280 enterprises with Azerbaijani capital operate in Uzbekistan, and a joint investment company has been established. Active cooperation projects are underway in sectors including geology, agriculture, transport, urban planning, textiles, and pharmaceuticals, alongside ongoing cultural and humanitarian exchange programs.
