The United States government has not yet reached a final decision regarding the specific objectives of a potential military operation against Iran.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing NBC News, that US officials have indicated the administration is still evaluating its strategic approach. According to two representatives of the Washington administration, US President Donald Trump has not yet issued specific instructions regarding the exact activities US forces should undertake in Iran.

The television network noted that the US leader remains undecided on the concrete goals of a possible military intervention. Furthermore, there is currently no consensus within the US administration regarding Washington's long-term role in the regional landscape that would emerge following any potential military action involving Iran.

Tensions between Washington and Tehran have remained a focal point of US foreign policy in the Middle East, involving complex issues ranging from regional security to nuclear non-proliferation. The deliberation process reflects the broader strategic caution exercised by the US President Donald Trump administration as it balances military readiness with diplomatic and geopolitical considerations in the Persian Gulf region.
