"İranla müharibənin bitməsindən sonra NATO ilə münasibətlərə yenidən baxılacaq"

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has stated that the United States is approaching the conclusion of its five-week military conflict with Iran.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Rubio made these remarks during an interview with Fox News, where he discussed the current trajectory of the regional tensions.

"We can now see the finish line. It will not happen today or tomorrow, but it will happen," Rubio said, adding that active messaging is currently being exchanged between Iran and the United States. He emphasized that no government or country globally is currently taking measures that could interfere with US actions in this regard.

The Secretary of State further noted that following the conclusion of the war with Iran, Washington must re-evaluate its relationship with the NATO alliance. Highlighting that the final decision rests with US President Donald Trump, Rubio expressed concerns regarding the commitment of European allies.

"Unfortunately, we must examine whether this alliance, which has served this country well for a long time, continues to serve its purpose. We need to determine if America is expected to defend Europe while our allies deny us the right to use bases or fly through their airspace when we require their assistance," Rubio stated. The remarks follow the refusal of several European nations to participate directly in military operations against Iran.

The current geopolitical tension comes at a time of significant transition in US foreign policy under the administration of US President Donald Trump. The potential reassessment of NATO marks a pivotal moment for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, which was established in 1949 to ensure collective defense. As Washington scrutinizes the contributions and loyalty of its member states, the outcome of these deliberations could redefine transatlantic security cooperation for the coming decades.
