A second crew member of an F-15 fighter jet downed over Iran has been rescued during a search and rescue operation carried out by US special forces.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing sources from Axios, the high-stakes mission was conducted with the direct support of US aviation. Following the successful extraction of the personnel, all US forces involved in the mission have reportedly withdrawn from Iran.
The incident occurs amid heightened regional tensions and underscores the complex security dynamics currently involving US President Donald Trump's administration and Tehran. The F-15 Eagle, a tactical fighter designed for air superiority, remains a cornerstone of American aerial operations, and the successful recovery of its crew is considered a critical priority in such combat search and rescue (CSAR) missions to prevent personnel from being taken captive.
