The Islamic Republic of Iran has conducted at least four drone attacks against vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz, according to statements from the United States.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that US President Donald Trump addressed the incident via his Truth Social account.
According to the US President, one of the drones struck the upper deck of a cargo vessel. "Although damage was sustained, the ship was able to continue its voyage. We shot down the other three drones. It is clear that this is a violation of our ceasefire agreement," President Trump stated.
The Strait of Hormuz is a critical maritime chokepoint, serving as the world's most important oil transit route. Approximately one-fifth of the world's oil consumption passes through this narrow waterway, making any military escalation in the region a matter of significant concern for global energy security and international maritime trade stability.
