US President Donald Trump's special envoy, Steven Witkoff, has arrived in Geneva to conduct high-level negotiations with Iranian representatives regarding the nuclear program.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing TASS, that the aircraft carrying the US special envoy landed at Geneva Airport earlier today. This meeting marks the commencement of the third round of nuclear discussions between the United States and Iran held in Switzerland.

The Iranian delegation is led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, while the American side is headed by Witkoff. These talks follow a series of diplomatic engagements in the region; last week, Witkoff visited Geneva for trilateral talks concerning Ukraine, which coincided with the second round of indirect contacts between US and Iranian officials.

The Geneva talks represent a significant diplomatic effort to address long-standing tensions regarding Iran's nuclear ambitions and international sanctions. Historically, Switzerland has served as a neutral ground for such high-stakes diplomacy, facilitating communication between nations without formal diplomatic ties. These discussions are viewed by international observers as a critical juncture in regional security and global non-proliferation efforts.
