“Neither Saudi Arabia nor Yemen’s Houthi movement has responded to Iran’s offer to mediate talks aimed at resolving the conflict.”
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made the remarks.
“Iran has received no response from Saudi Arabia or Yemen’s Houthis to its offer to mediate talks aimed at ending the conflict,” he said.
Araghchi also said Egypt joining Saudi Arabia in its fight against the Houthis could further complicate the situation.
Egypt earlier said it was ready to provide Riyadh with all possible assistance to ensure its security.
Saudi Arabia leads an Arab coalition that provides military support to Yemeni government forces in their fight against the Houthis. The coalition carries out airstrikes on Houthi positions. In response, the Houthis have begun attacking Saudi infrastructure.
