US President Donald Trump's administration has presented evidence suggesting that China has conducted secret nuclear tests, raising concerns over international arms control compliance.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing information published in The Washington Post, that senior officials have identified suspicious activity at China's secretive testing facilities.

According to the report, the incident in question occurred near the "Lop Nur" test site, a well-known classified facility located in the Xinjiang region of western China. The US side utilized seismic data obtained from monitoring stations in neighboring Kazakhstan to conclude that a nuclear-related test had taken place. This discovery has reportedly served as a catalyst for discussions within the Trump administration regarding the potential resumption of US nuclear testing.

The Lop Nur site has historically been the primary location for China's nuclear weapons development since its first successful test in 1964. While China officially maintains a moratorium on nuclear testing in line with the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT), US intelligence and defense analysts have frequently monitored the site for signs of low-yield or subcritical experiments that might violate the "zero-yield" standard. These developments come amid broader reports from outlets like The New York Times regarding China's large-scale expansion of its nuclear arsenal and silo infrastructure.
