Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapaty has launched a personnel review of officers and generals serving at the General Staff.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that Ukrainskaya Pravda published the information, citing sources.
According to the report, the aim is to identify officers and generals who have not taken part in combat operations since 2022.
As part of the review, unit commanders must provide information on service members who have no practical experience in carrying out combat missions since 2022. Drapaty reportedly personally gathered the heads of all structural units of the General Staff on Sept. 28 and explained what he expected from them.
According to the source, combat experience is not the only criterion of professionalism, but army leaders should remain aware of what is happening among the troops.
“At the same time, all officers without combat experience will not be dismissed automatically. Some of these service members are expected to be sent to the troops, while officers serving on the front line may be selected to fill their positions at the General Staff,” the publication wrote.
The review reflects the importance of maintaining a direct link between military headquarters and units operating in combat conditions. In wartime, personnel assessments may consider operational experience alongside leadership, planning and professional expertise.
