The UK Maritime Trade Operations Center (UKMTO) warned on Wednesday of possible piracy after receiving reports of suspicious activity in the Gulf of Aden, according to Anadolu Agency.
In a statement on “X”, UKMTO said reports from various sources could indicate activity by a pirate action group.
Several suspicious small boats were seen near merchant vessels. One was described as green and blue, carrying nine people and equipped with two ladders and a hook.
Authorities are investigating, UKMTO said, urging ships transiting the area to exercise caution and report suspicious activity.
