The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has successfully intercepted a series of aerial threats launched from Iran targeting various locations across the country.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing foreign media outlets, that the UAE's air defense systems were activated to neutralize a coordinated strike involving both unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles.

In an official statement, the UAE Ministry of Defense confirmed that the explosions heard in several regions were the result of air defense batteries engaging ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as drones. According to the Ministry, defense forces successfully intercepted five ballistic missiles and 35 drones launched from Iran on April 1.

US President Donald Trump addressed the situation during a speech on April 1, expressing his gratitude and firm support for the UAE and other regional partners. "They are great, and we will not let them suffer or fail in any area," US President Donald Trump stated. He further criticized Tehran's actions, noting that Iran is conducting attacks on neighboring countries and oil tankers that "have nothing to do with the conflict."

The Gulf region has seen a significant increase in maritime and aerial security tensions in recent years, often involving strategic shipping lanes such as the Strait of Hormuz. The UAE has consistently invested in advanced multi-layered missile defense architectures, including the THAAD and Patriot systems, to safeguard its critical infrastructure and urban centers from such regional escalations. This latest incident underscores the ongoing volatility in the Middle East and the importance of international defense cooperation in maintaining global energy security and regional stability.
