President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who is currently on a state visit to Azerbaijan, visited the Alley of Honor in Baku to pay tribute to the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the architect and founder of the modern, independent Azerbaijani state.
According to the "Operativ Məlumat Mərkəzi-OMM", the Turkmen President laid a wreath at the grave of the Great Leader and placed fresh flowers as a sign of respect.
During the visit, President Berdimuhamedov also paid his respects to the grave of prominent ophthalmologist and scientist Zarifa Aliyeva, placing fresh flowers at her memorial.
The visit to the Alley of Honor is a traditional protocol element for high-level state visits to Azerbaijan, symbolizing the deep historical and cultural ties between the two nations. Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan share significant cooperation in the energy, transport, and logistics sectors, particularly within the framework of the Trans-Caspian transport corridor, which continues to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
