Authorities in Turkey have detained 293 individuals suspected of organizing illegal online gambling operations and engaging in various forms of fraud. The crackdown represents a significant effort by law enforcement to curb cybercrime and illicit betting activities across the country.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing reports from "A Haber," the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted coordinated operations across 34 cities and towns. Following the initial detentions, judicial authorities have ordered the arrest of 159 suspects, while 94 individuals have been released under judicial control measures.

The suspects are accused of orchestrating illegal online gambling platforms and utilizing social media to defraud citizens through deceptive advertisements. Such operations are part of a broader, ongoing campaign by Turkish security forces to dismantle criminal networks that exploit digital platforms for financial gain. Illegal gambling remains a significant concern for authorities, often linked to broader organized crime syndicates that operate across international borders.
