US President Donald Trump issues stern warning to CNN over disinformation

US President Donald Trump has strongly accused CNN of spreading disinformation after the network broadcasted claims from the Supreme National Security Council of Iran regarding an alleged victory over the United States.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, US President Donald Trump addressed the controversy on his Truth Social platform, labeling the reports as fraudulent and a fabrication of the facts.

The US President noted that the statement aired by CNN World News was entirely fake. He clarified that the actual official position is reflected in a document shared by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, which he subsequently posted on his own Truth Social account to provide clarity. US President Donald Trump further demanded that CNN issue an immediate apology for its poor reporting and retract the story, noting that authorities are investigating potential criminal elements behind the dissemination of the false statement.

The controversy stems from a statement purportedly issued by Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), which claimed a strategic victory over the United States and outlined conditions allegedly accepted by the White House. While Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi later announced ceasefire terms on social media, observers noted significant discrepancies between the SNSC text and the Foreign Ministry's version, fueling a global media scandal over conflicting narratives.

This incident highlights the ongoing tension between the White House and Tehran, as well as the US President's long-standing critique of major media outlets. In the context of international diplomacy, such informational discrepancies often complicate regional stability efforts in the Middle East. As Azerbaijan maintains a balanced foreign policy and monitors regional security closely, the accuracy of official communications between global powers remains a matter of significant geopolitical interest in Baku.
