Seven people, including three Turkish citizens, have been killed following the crash of a helicopter belonging to the Qatar Air Force. The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the incident took place on the evening of March 21 off the coast of Qatar.

According to a statement from the Turkish Ministry of National Defense, the victims included two employees of the Turkish defense company ASELSAN and one member of the Turkish Armed Forces. The training flight was being conducted in accordance with the Turkey-Qatar military cooperation plan. Preliminary investigations suggest that the crash was caused by a technical malfunction. Search and rescue operations successfully located the wreckage of the helicopter and recovered the bodies of the deceased.

The Turkish Ministry of National Defense has expressed its deepest condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the people of Turkey and Qatar. Military cooperation between Turkey and Qatar has strengthened significantly in recent years, involving joint training exercises and the presence of a Turkish military base in Doha. ASELSAN, a leading defense electronics company in Turkey, frequently collaborates with international partners on regional security and technological development projects.
