Turkish coach Sergen Yalcin could be appointed head coach of Turkey’s national team. According to information shared on social media platform X by transfer insider Nicolo Schira, the parties are close to signing a contract that would run through the 2030 World Cup.
Yalcin’s most recent club was Besiktas, which he left in May. He won the Turkish league title and the national cup once each with the club.
During his career, Yalcin has also worked with Antalyaspor, Malatyaspor, Alanyaspor, Konyaspor, Eskisehirspor, Kayserispor, Gaziantepspor and Sivasspor.
Schira previously reported that Arda Turan would be appointed head coach of Turkey’s national team, but later deleted the post. The team’s previous coach was Vincenzo Montella. His tenure ended following unsuccessful results.
