Serbia is firmly committed to developing the highest level of strategic partnership with Azerbaijan, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said during the first meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Serbia held in Belgrade.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the meeting was attended by President Ilham Aliyev. Addressing the participants, President Vucic emphasized the deep bonds between the two nations. "My dear friend, Mr. President, and distinguished friends from Azerbaijan, we are extremely determined to develop the best strategic partnership with our friendly country, Azerbaijan. We will work toward this goal with all our heart to further enhance our relations in various fields. When challenges arise, we are always able to solve them together as friends. This will always be the case. We wish for our friendship and mutual cooperation to develop even more rapidly and intensively," Vucic stated.
The establishment of the Strategic Partnership Council marks a significant milestone in the diplomatic history of the two countries, reflecting a shared vision for regional stability and economic cooperation. Azerbaijan and Serbia have consistently supported each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity on international platforms. Beyond political ties, the partnership increasingly focuses on energy security, infrastructure projects, and trade, positioning Azerbaijan as a key partner for Serbia in the South Caucasus, while Serbia serves as a vital link for Azerbaijan in the Balkans.
