Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Monday that a Russian strike on the Academy of Sciences building in Kyiv killed at least one person and injured six others, including children.
In a statement on “X”, Zelenskyy said Russian forces had also struck a medical facility in the city centre, where rescuers were working to extinguish a fire. The claims were reported by the original source.
He said Russia had additionally targeted civilian facilities, businesses and communications infrastructure in Dnipro and other cities and regions.
“Russia will definitely face a response to this,” Zelenskyy said. “Russia must be held accountable for all of this and face real consequences.”
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram that 19 Kyiv residents had been injured in Russian attacks throughout the day.
