Russian guided bomb hits apartment building in Kharkiv, injuring 15

A Russian guided bomb struck an apartment building in Kharkiv, Ukraine, injuring 15 people, including children, according to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

The attack occurred on Monday morning. Authorities reported that people inside the building were injured after the strike.

Previous attacks in Ukraine

Before the incident, at least five people were killed in Russian strikes on various regions of Ukraine on Sunday. Two people were killed in an attack on a market near Kyiv, while three others died in the cities of Sumy and Kharkiv.

Ukrainian officials said Russian forces carried out near-continuous attacks during the day. They said the strikes targeted apartment buildings, infrastructure and other facilities.

Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, lies close to the Russian border and has frequently come under attack since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Independent verification of battlefield claims can be difficult during ongoing hostilities.
