“The US military continues to warn Ukraine about potential air strikes at the same level as before.”
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said this, Operative Information Center-OMM reports.
“There was no deliberate political directive intended to harm Ukraine. That is not true. As far as I know, people were affected by the strikes on October 13 and 18, and this was not reported. This did not happen because the United States failed to provide information,” Rubio said.
He also addressed an interview with one of the Ukrainian president’s advisers, in which it was alleged that people in the country had died because the United States refused to provide intelligence. Rubio strongly criticized the claims.
“This is scandalous, infuriating and simply untrue,” the US secretary of state said.
According to Rubio, the problem may involve Ukraine’s capacity to obtain and organize information and respond to it promptly. He said the possibility was being investigated.
“That is possible, and we are looking into the matter. We continue to warn them as before,” he stressed.
The US secretary of state also said Washington had not deliberately ignored Ukraine’s requests for supplies of air defense missiles.
According to Rubio, many countries, including Saudi Arabia and Israel, need interceptor missiles used against incoming missiles. The United States also needs them to protect its military facilities.
Rubio added that US President Donald Trump was dissatisfied with the lack of progress toward resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
The secretary of state also acknowledged that serious tensions existed between the United States and Ukraine. Against this backdrop, he reportedly held a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on October 20.
