Spanish club Real Madrid is interested in continuing its cooperation with the team's veteran defender Antonio Rudiger.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the club management has offered the German center-back a new one-year contract extension.
However, certain disagreements currently exist between the parties. Rudiger had previously expressed a desire for a two-season extension rather than a single year. It remains unclear how the player will respond to the club's latest proposal, as the 33-year-old considers this potentially the final major contract of his professional career. Consequently, it is not ruled out that he may demand longer-term and more financially favorable terms.
Real Madrid, one of the most successful football clubs in history, frequently employs a policy of offering one-year extensions to players over the age of 30. This strategy is designed to maintain squad flexibility while retaining experienced leaders. Rudiger, who joined the "Whites" in 2022, has become a cornerstone of the team's defense, contributing significantly to their domestic and European successes, including their recent UEFA Champions League campaigns.
