Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the BRICS+ summit.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the leaders held their meeting in New Delhi.
Yury Ushakov, an aide to the Russian president, said Moscow highly values the relations of trust that have developed between Putin and Modi.
According to him, the leaders enjoy communicating in an informal and trusting atmosphere.
Dmitry Peskov, the Russian president’s press secretary, had earlier outlined the main topics of the talks.
He said the sides planned to discuss economic cooperation.
Putin may also brief the Indian prime minister on the current situation in the area where fighting is taking place in Ukraine.
BRICS brings together major emerging economies and serves as a platform for discussions on political, economic and international issues. The BRICS+ format also includes outreach to additional partner countries.
